I running 4 subs on it, they're gonna be puttin a total of 4 ohm load on the amp... every sub will get 300 RMS.... whoa, nooo... how are you wiring these? what ohms are the subs? and if you have 4 subs, making a final ohm load of 4 ohms, and you have it hooked up to the amp, it'll be 300 \ 4 ... so each amp would get 75w...

The truth is it depends on which Brand your amp is. If you are running the 4 kicker compubs to a mono amp then the ampo should be 600 RMS not more than 900 RMS if it is a reputable brand. (Crappy off brand name brands rate their stuff differently) If you give me the model # of your amplifier and the Brand as well as tell me if your comps are 4 ohm or 2 ohm I will tell you if what you are doing makes sense and i will send you a wire diagram to show you how to wire it.

TeejayBee Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 Okay what ohm are your subs is what we need to know you might of said it but i dont feel like looking and if your having a final load of 4ohm then your amp is only putting out 300watts rms so each sub gets 75wattrms not 300 if you wire them down to 1 or 2 ohms then you will get 150watts per sub If you don't get this, this is how we are getting the numbers Your amp does 600watts at 1 and 2 ohm so if you wire the subs down to a final load of 1 or 2 ohms you are getting what is said to be 600 watts you take the 600 divided by 4 since you have four subs then you get 150watts per sub. Now if you wire it to 4ohms your saying it will only put out 300 watts so then you take the 300 divided by 4 since you have four subs and you get 75 watts per sub that better? Edit: and since your subs are rated at 150rms then wire them down to 1 or 2 ohm because then you will be giving them the power they ask for.
