Did you check for secure connections with big 3 wires?, If you took the belt off did you check for slippage or maybe not a good amount of bare metal for ground points
parkero801 Posted March 4, 2010 Author Report Posted March 4, 2010 Did you check for secure connections with big 3 wires?, If you took the belt off did you check for slippage or maybe not a good amount of bare metal for ground points yeah I Re-did the whole thing i checked the wires and connectors they were good and solid I sanded off some rust and the paint down to the metal. and connected everything back im still getting a low rpm..seems like its starving for more power..should i upgrade alternator?
Guest Scylloga Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 Ive thought about this for a bit now. The only thing I can come up with is since you did the big three your alt is not having to strain to charge your shit there fore lowering the load on the engine. Kinda like how when you turn the ac on it puts a load on the motor. Maybe your alt was hitting a bottleneck and it was showing it needed to work harder to get voltage and amps out. Now with bigger wire allowing more voltage to flow its not causing a load on the alt.
Gingeriffik Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 ^^^^^^^Beat me too it!!!!LOL Is it possible that with the new wiring that the load demand at idle has been improved, thus a lower idle. I don't think a 500 idle is bad. That is what my hoe does, 5-800. <>< Collosians 2:13-14, Philippians 4:13, 1 John 4:7-10 2 - JBL W15Gti 2 - JBL BP1200.1 Knu 1/0 Wiring Kenwood KIV-BT901 Kenwood/Garmin Nav.

Baydestrian Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 5-600 idle should be normal...although it could depend on the car...mine idles at 650...when I first start my car its at 1k then slowly goes down 2015 Mazda 6 JVF Customz 4.0 Proto 15>Wolfram W4500 @ .5ohm 2 Sundown Neo 6.5 + 2 CT Meso Tweeters (Front) x Kicker KS6.5 (Rear)>JL Audio VX400/4i NSB-AMG35 (front) / 40ah Lithium Headway (Rear) built by Erni Audio & Electrical
