30Hz.wav
Ok, so a friend of mine had 1 15" L7, in a custom box I made kind of similar to the pic I am posting, but recently got stolen. So he is doing another L7, but I came up with this box, I wanted to know if anyone could look it over and see anything wrong before I actually go build it... (The box is going to go FACE UP, in his 01 blazer) The max volume on kickers website is 6 cubic feet, but I am just a little below that with this box... http://www.kicker.com/Solo-Baric_L7 Any input would be appreciated. This is for "1" 15" Kicker L7 Edited March 10, 2010 by cccmaa
AUDIOADDICT02
it's actually 5.47cu.ft. @32.12, not much of a diff.(re's calculator is a little bit off) the max vol. is 6, min. is 3, so you'd be fine with this box... Nice thanks! And can anyone tell me anything about the port? Is it big enough? Enough volume in it? Tuned to 32hz was what I was trying to shoot for. 30Hz.wav
how much power do you plan on putting on it? About a true 1200 RMS at 1ohm, just like we had before the first 1 got stolen. We are using the same amp, thief's were too stupid to grab the amp which was right near the box.
kmalinich
sounds good .. but when you build it.. before any finishing touches.. (body filler carpet etc etc..) throw the sub in and see how it sounds .. make sure you play music with a big bass frequency range... like 25Hz - 60Hz.. if it's good, you're golden.. if it isn't...well at least you wern't way into the build before you noticed. just a tip

Tuned to 32hz was what I was trying to shoot for. Port area is good too, as long as it's not too small you're good....the bigger the better(in some cases) I made a box for a swapmeet 10" tuned to 29hz, but my port area was 17in.sq.(way too big for the sub) and it hit lows as well as mid bass,up to 65hz, just as good!(you know how they say tuning low sacrifices higher freq. Bass)-just thought i'd share this with ya'll... 30Hz.wav
For anyone who comes across this thread and is interested, here is a pic of the pre-finished product, built from those specs above... Going in the blazer in a few hours, and will get some fleckstone in about a week or 2....
