mazda 6, 158.0@30hz 4 18" subwoofers. update pics page 55,56,58,59

Recommended Posts

I can just hear it, I see the subs moving way too much for the output being generated, I need to laod down the subs a little bit. So I will be pussing them back as far as possible, all the way to the back glass, I will cut the steel support out and then make a new one so I can maximize the airspace. batteries and amps will be moved into the cab and the trunk will become one large box. I will even cut the floor pan on the trunk to gain a few cubic feet. hopefully it'll work and I will break the 160, if I get 158 I will settle on that.

Big change, due to the fact that there are 4 other people in my audio team that are running 2 21" subs I have elected to change to 6 15" subs in a ported box firing into a loading chamber. I would loosely say a 6th order in series with an untuned front chamber. I will be using 3" 4 layer copper coils and dual spiders, I want very low Fs and a decent amount of stroke. there will be 3,333 watts per sub. I will also be changing a my door speaker to something less sound q and more PA'ish but still will be using mostly soft dome tweeters. with PA mids.

If the new system can play music all day in the 25hz range at around 155 Victory. I will also make sure the seat reclines and I am not all smashed up against the steering wheel,

hopefully the system doesnt unload with an open door as well.

Very nice build you have Madvibes. Love the creativity, fabrication and pushing the boundries within your car.

Thank you slappy,

The next push of the boundaries might be my last for a while. I am basically going to completely destroy my vehicle from a resale stand point and I am ok with that cause I have another car now, Once I get my back glass removed once again I will start the tear down and rebuild, much more metal fab to do this time around. My bestie just got a vehicle lift for his metal fab shop and I am stoked. No more crawling on my back to do shit. Might finally get my under glow up and running... haha...

quick update! subwoofer box has been demo'd out of the car, amps are out and batteries are coming out tomorrow. I am going to do major surgery to achieve the 160@30hz goal.

the trunk floor will be cut to accomadate the 6 group 31's in a battery box. The amplifier rack will then be mounted directly on top of the battery bank. the rear dash will be completely cut out and 5 cubic feet of the new speaker box will reside in the trunk. the new box will house 4 18" subs in a quasi 6th order series box. The box face will be back 6" further than the old box so I dont have to drive my car without the seat reclined, That shit sucks. construction of the system starts on monday. pics to follow!
