OrionStang
I know im gonna get bashed about this brand, but here it goes. Has anyone ever used the SoundStorm Evolution series amps?? I can get a couple for very, very cheap. I might get them just to play with, just wondering if anybody has seen them personally. These are 3000rms a 1 ohm. CaptainzPlanetz
What I dont get is why all these Max Brands are always 2 channel amps. I guess it appeals to the dont knows that think to run two subs you need 2 channels. Quote ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ CaptainzPlanetz
They wont do near rated power here is the Fusing of them that I found. Important installation considerations for using this amplifier. The fuse ratings for these amps EV3000D: 60A (30A x 2) EV4000D: 120A (40A x 3) EV5000D: 175A (ANL type) Although sufficient for normal working conditions, overloading the amp result in blown fuses. Please try avoid overloading the amp in this manner. Your EVOLUTION Class D amplifier is designed to run with a minimum load of 1 Ohm. Operating the EV3000D , EV4000D or EV5000D with speaker impedance load below 1 Ohm may result in poor sound quality and damage the amplifier circuitry. Such damage is not covered under the warranty for this product. Do not mistake the input level control for a volume control! It is designed ONLY to match the output level your audio source to the input of your amplifier. Do not adjust this input level to maximum unless your input level requires it. Ignoring these instructions will result in an input overload to the amplifier, and excessive audio distortion. can also cause the protection circuit to engage. Don't misuse the level control! raytard
l o l be careful, that 3000w amp needs atleast good 8g to run properly, with its current hog 60a draw Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
TechSys
SoundStorm EV3000d will never output that kind of power. 2x30amp fuses times 14.4volts = 864wrms \ .707 = 1222.065MAX. I think my math is right. Feeling kinda sick right now, so could be off. At least it has 1/0 power inputs. That's a plus. You'd actually be better off getting the EV-5000d. It comes with a 175amp fuse. Even though it probably still wouldn't output the rated power, it looks like it'd be closer. 175x14.4=2520watts/.707=3564.36MAX Quote Team Pinnacle / Team SouthEastSPL / Team SoundStream / Team GPI / GPI Sales Rep for Florida and Georgia
raytard
its *.707 silly, not /.707, so output is like 600 watts on a good day....(efficiency is a drop in output, not a gain... 864*70% efficiency =605ish) Quote Build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/ind...hl=avalon+build monster/rockford/kicker/stinger cables, pioneer source, jbl highs/amps, kinetik/shuriken batts, iraggi alt, dei security, dc subs(atleast for now) Team DC
