This a problem?

not necessarily. if the wire connection at either end of the fuse was loose, it would create resistance and heat. resistance im sure is what would cause the volts to drop.

and also an increase in heat can cause resistance iirc

Or the kid has his stuff improperly tuned and wired, did he specify anywhere what gauge wiring he has? Ive seen kids use extension cables from the dollar store to run power/ground wires.

LOL or the so famous power wire through the door jam.

whats this about extension cord power and ground through the doorjamb? real installers just run it out the grill, over the hood, in the sunroof, and right to the amp screwed to the box seatbelted into the back seat.

you know what they say, you cant fix stupid.

I'm surprised anyone is still helping this guy after the crap attitude he has and the malicious attacks towards people trying to help him...

all the information about how to fix your problem has been discussed in this thread already, its silly.

Real installers run the the power wire/rcas/speaker wires all in the same path to reduce interference.

quick off topic question seems appropriate to this, is it good or bad to ground the amp to the battery? or should ya just ground it to a good ground in the trunk?

either/or. running an extra ground forward is costly and hard to hide in some cars, but lots of competitors do it. a solid ground is a sold ground, whether its in the trunk, backseat, under the car, or on the battery.
