Andrew
Will a single 180 amp alt. power my system to its full potential w/ a optima red top under the hood? The system is either a RF T30001BD or T40001BD and either a RF T4004 or T8004... All going in a 99' Honda Civic coupe. New project in the works

Would be hard to tell...IMO I would say no.I had a 130amp alt with two Optima yellow tops power one Orion 2500d and my voltage still dropped into the 12s. I'm not saying you wouldn't be able to power them, you will, but your voltage is going to be some where in the high 12s or in the low 13s...Especially with a T4000.1 I would look into a bigger Alt or an extra battery or two. Also the big 3 wouldn't hurt
ChevyBoy
dude there is no way that would work. ur electrical system prolly pulls ~80-90. if u looked in meade's posts, his t40001bd has an internal fuse rated at 500 amps. the 3000 is around 300 or 350 i think. ur gonna either need another alternator or a HUGE one. prolly some serious caps too
meade916
id get at least a 200-250 minimum and get a couple batterys......the T4000.1bd draws up to 400 amps each and with 4 of them even i dont have enough with dual 300's. I mean im doin ok, i have 7 pc2150's and a yeller' top to back them up but they could always use more. its a great amp youll love it....i say get it, just be smart and feed it the electrical it wants All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
