Blackedout
I tin some of my wires, If I have an issue with them. If There's no issues, I don't worry about it. On the terminal thing...... If you have a properly soldered terminal, it's not coming off under normal use. There's no reason to crimp it. Crimping only makes it unusable if you ever have to change the length of a wire. deadbroke
so i soldered the end of one of them with the wires in an open end lug and it came out perfectly round. the only problem i can see is the tip being so hard it won't allow contact completely around the inline fuse holder lug. i'm not sure if its all the trouble but it makes it oh so much easier to remove the wires and install them again and again without twisting the ends. If you have a properly soldered terminal, it's not coming off under normal use. There's no reason to crimp it. Crimping only makes it unusable if you ever have to change the length of a wire. Even properly soldered, the mechanical bond that crimping allows is still needed. Terminals are cheap enough to buy in bulk, a solder joint isnt as good if its not crimped. But we all do it different ways, I just do it how I was taught in my ICAR classes.
