I am new to selling stuff( online ) and i have a couple of questions on how it all works woth a few different things, this also could be in the wrong section bu t i dont know, anyway's... I was wondering how well paypal has worked for all you guys who use it and what are the pro's and cons of it.. Also, how do USPS money orders work, when sent to canada( where i live ) and the whole works... also, i have a comp that i was about to sell, but the buyer did not want to release the funds until i sent it, is this the way to do the transaction... any input is much and very appreciated..

With paypal, i have used it for a number of years now, and it is good with the expection of when i signed up if you sold something and the person paid with a credit card you had to have a business accout. When i sold some big block alum heads off a 68 vette withthe 427 the guy bought them with a credit card so i had to get the business account to accept his payment and to withdraw the total amount since it was over the limit for the personal accout, which was like 300 at the time and the heads sold for 1100 and i needed the money then, i couldnt withdraw more than 300 a month with the personal account. With a business account you have to pay a small fee when you get money put in your paypal account. Whereas with personal you don't.

with money orders i believe the usps has a international money order and you should be able to take it to like a bank and get it cashed or deposited into a checking or savings account. I am not for sure since i dont live in canada.

If the guy hasnt paid for the item and sent you the money it would be dumb on your part to send him the item.

thanks, i just feel that paypal is the way to go, but 2 people insist i receive a usps money order, that is to be held till i ship my stuff out..... i know paypal u receive ur money...... these people insist on how crappy paypal is so they wanna do it this way....

If you're the seller then they send you the money then you send them the item and no holding checks or MOs. Make sure the money is legit before you send out anything. If they don't trust you that much then sell to someone else.
