ISO Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 I just read something in a Zapco article where they claim 1ohm sounds muddy and 4ohms sounds better. I also hear that a/b sub amps have much better control of the woofer resulting in a better response. Does anyone agree with this? Yes they do with class A/B sounding better than Class D designs but it is catching up. This is why we ALL told you to keep your ARC se4000 as it is one of the best Sound Quality Class D amps on the market and very expensive. Boon Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 Arc SE4000 is Class H, I do believe To make 1000w @ 4 ohms takes ~63v of output which means much, much faster slew and far more voltage swing as well as dynamic headroom. Dunno if many people could hear the difference though Especially considering the subs/enclosures most people are running. 10.x volts fo' life!
