How long does it take you?

Recommended Posts

I would say at least a week to get it done right. I would strip the whole vehicle and do the most important thing second skin the whole thing. Then do the necessary wiring and electrical upgrades. Do the rest from there.

Why would you wanna do a fast install? 1.You get no satisfaction 2.Your quality will suffer & 3.You don't end up tearing it out and starting over. In my opinion a great install will take months to years.

(This is all a mute point if your a shop. A shop tries to crank out high volumes of installs to maximize profits not for quality)

This totally depends on the car. But on something fairly user friendly for dis assembling (aka unlike my car) heres my estimates.

Head unit- 1 hour

Front and rears and tweeters- 1 hour

Wiring done correctly (we're talking zip ties and all that shit)- 1.5 hours

Big 3- 40 minutes...half the time for me was soldering the damn lugs on the ends.

Secondary batt in the trunk- 30-45 minutes...Gotta run another 1/0 neatly.

Amps + Amp Racks and wiring for it- 2-4 hours

Enclosure (if already loaded)- 5 minutes lol

RE ASSEMBLY- 1+ hours

The longest part is the wiring for the 4 channel IMO because some cars are a PITA to snake the wires through the doors (if you choose not to drill thru the door)

But honestly every car theres different problems. Working sun up to sundown I assume I can get it done. But doing the job and doing it the right way is 2 completely different things.

Shit. It took me damn near 30 minutes to get my old enclosure into the trunk. 4 cubes after displacement in a Sunfire FTL.

Probably would take me a month to get it done right since Im never happy with anything I do and end up redoing it over and over.
