CNF Kevosinn
ive really been interested in DC audio. Ive talked to Rusty about the lvl 4xls. The lms ultras are some of the best subs around but i dont have an unlimited budget lol. Im looking to spend up to 1k for a pair of 12's. The trick is they gotta handle the good 6k im puttin to them. RD ive looked at and yea ive heard the customer service is horrible, they arent a big enough company for me to really think about them. I am out of missouri so i dont have anyone around here with most of the brands on this forum. This forum is a huge help to me though lol. or you could only spend 500 on the auidoque 12's........ chewie
audioques take a beating as well.. i really like their spaced spider design.. keeps the coil nice and linear even during extreme excursion. you might wanna take a second look bro!! You're definitely right, the $1,000 budget automatically eliminates the LMS Ultra. Even used ones are going to cost $750 or more...unless you find a hell of a deal. A pair of new Level 5's will be a little over your budget too....according the prices I was quoted at least. I don't think I'd be comfortable giving the XL 3,000+ watts daily. I'm not saying it can't be done, only that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it. Quote You can't fix stupid
chewie
i gave my level 4 with level 5 softparts and coil 3k daily and it was perfectly fine.. if he were to get the xls he would be fine on 3k each daily. i wall socketed my level 4 in a box tuned to 36 hz for 45 seconds and it was perfectly fine.. was just barely warm.. on the dustcap.. no coil discoloration or nothing. i calculated that to be around 4500 watts.. give or take a couple hundie. REaudioBuff
see thats what im thinking on the lvl 4 xls.... but what about the aq's? i mean i love them and would love to go with them but 3k daily to each is pushing it. the lvl 5s are a bit outta my range, unless i sell the pair of RE MX's i have for 800 or so. if that happens ill get the lvl 5s lol and tear my damn car apart. I'm also thinking of doing about a 6cube box 3^ft per subs of course. It'll be a tight fit after displacement... But ima see if it can be done. chewie
level 5s will need more than 3k to come fully alive.. my boy big pimpin has two audioque hdc3s in his bronco 2 in a 9 cube box tuned super low on 6k and they hold up.. 6 cube box for 12s is a little big.. i think 6k in a six cube might be pushin it for 12s Edited April 13, 2010 by chewie Quote 91 dodge colt gt.. 4 custom t600 15s audioque 3500d.1 tuned to 25 hz... stay tuned. blazer stroker 15 brutus bxi2006d terrible voltage drop 145.4@38HZ... As I said; "I'm not saying it can't be done, only that I wouldn't feel comfortable doing it". I'm sure the sub can handle the power, but things like that are application dependent. Just because it does well in application A doesn't automatically guarantee success for application B. Quote You can't fix stupid
REaudioBuff
I see the point you both have. but a 6 cube box would let the aq's hold up to 6kws rms daily your pretty sure? i mean i will have the electrical then to give good clean wattage. right now im just running 2 hc2400's and a red top. gonna make it a 300amp alt a hc1400 under the hood, 2 hc2400s and ill see if i can fit more bats anywhere. If its possible then ima do it lol.
