I'm planning to get alpine type r speakers. If they are amped will they give a lot of nice clear bass? Also are type r speakers good? Any other speakers suggestions within that price range? (they about 100-150$)

You talking about subs or coax/components?? The subs can get kinda loud, and with good sq. Type-r speakers are average sounding in my opinion.

I personally like pioneer and kicker for midrange speakers. Remember, these are not midbass drivers, but they have good midrange sound. If you are just upgrading your factory stuff, almost anything would sound better. Go to the local stereo shop and listen to a bunch different speakers to see what you like. Most shops have a wall with a bunch of different speakers to listen to.

Nice bass? Yes. Loud bass? No. Same for the brands I mentioned.
