BK Ryan 9oh4
i just hooked it up today and i was wondering if having an L5 and L7 in the same box was a bad idea. the box is ported and im running them off of a JL 1000/1 amp. any input is appreciated
cqtama
terible idea. they are 2 completely different woofers and need differnt amounts of everything (power, air space, port area ect.) to really preform. why not buy 2 of the same sub? dnewell2004
Not a good idea. Even though the box is ported there is a chance that they will fight each other. Them: "Why does my amp keep cutting out?" Me: "What is your ohm load?" Them: "What's an ohm load?"
BK Ryan 9oh4
i had 2 L5s with hopes of getting 2 L7s. i cant throw a bunch of money at it so i slowly change it. one of the L5s is acting up and i found a decent deal on an L7 so i just replaced it for now. i do have a single closed box i can put the L7 in. even if i separate them could i still run them off the 1 amp? STEvil
Might work fine, might not... probably will be acceptable as long as their xmax and coil impedence are close (the closer the better). I paired two L5 10's with two L7 10's and it was awesome. Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
