Misk Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 Sup world im new here!Im planning on upgrading my system and wonering if this was a good choice.Im currently running a 1200 watt power acoustic gothic amp with 2 12 inch audiobahn high excursions in a sealed box(kinda weak).i found a deal that is in my price range that caught my eye.Its a pre selected amp/subs combo.the amp is a ALPHASONIK PMA800DA 1,640 WATT RMS mono block and the subs are 2 RE AUDIO SEX12D4 12" 1200 WATT RMS RATED.Has anyone heard these subs,Ive never hear re audio stuff in person.I will hopefully be getting a different car in a few months,most likely a scion tc so the rattle thats going on in the video im posting should be suppressed a little more with the open trunk.heres my current setup video its a flip cam so the audio is bad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FA3pEA4JLpE www.pixelpoisondesigns.com@PixelPoisonDesEmail me
spl4life Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 if you had to go RE... go for the SXX series... ive heard the old SX series in person... they are great subs... there are alot of great sub brands out there... DC, Sundown, DD, AQ... alot of people will tell you this here... Its all about the build... 20% equipment, 8 0 % build design/quality... If you want sugestions about upgrading... were going to need to know what is your budget... to be honest i say a good budget system cost about $1000 total. thats for a decent amp, good sub, wiring, HU, and internals... or if you can find some great deals on some good used here on the "For-Sale" section.... edit: didnt know that 80 makes a smiley... lol My first truck... I just got mine and it blew me away. for the price you cant go wrong looks like the op already has an alpine hu. no matter the vehicle sounds like you could use some sound deadener in the trunk and behind the plate. I've started putting some in my trunk and has helped with rattles a good bit. In the want to sell section often offers of stuff that is brand new or in very good used conditions. Like the Destrams (is on the first side of the want to sell), he offers DC lvl 4 XL 15´s for 225 $ per each. Other ones is the presale from Sundown for the new SAZ 2500 D, you can save 250 $ (775 normal sales price 525 presaleprice). The lvl 4 XL subs and SAZ 2500 D are pure terror, everyone want to lick his fingers after these items. You can get a lot of experience here on SMD in a short time, what the best bang for ur buck.
