So I plan on going camping for 4 day weekend and probably not going anywhere. Since I'll have to charge my phone, ipod and e-cigs I'll probably have an hour or two a day with two items plugged into my cigarette lighter charging.

Since I don't really want to hang out around my car much with it running (intoxicants will be involved probably often) I would like to know what you guys would do in terms of how often and for how long you would recommend starting it to charge the battery?

I know my battery is good, but I'm sure having a large car stereo isn't easy on it.

If I know I'm not gonna be listening to my system while my cars running, I turn the remote off with a switch, you should if your not gonna be listening to any music while its running.

Yeah, good call. I forgot to mention this, but I probably will disconnect my amp entirely and remove my speakers from the trunk because of the tents and coolers and crap I'll take with (it's what I did last year). Also it helps not to be tempted to go out there and rock music which could get me in trouble.

Again, I'm just basically parking my car for 4 days and am going to use it only to charge my stuff. I'm asking if this could drain the battery, because i think it could.. and if people think I could just start it up and run it for a certain time. I did this before, but again... getting a DUI for running it stopped would be not cool!!!

At most, I'd run the car for 15ish minutes, at like 2 grand, just to charge it. Not even 15 mins at 2 grand. The drive will charge the battery to full and then when you start it, the voltage will go back up. As long as you're not using it to run a cooler or power inverter you'll be fine. Cell phone chargers don't drain batteries, nor do Ipods. You'll be fine, just watch the voltage when you start it.

You can always get something like this in case you do run the battery too low.

Better yet, he could use it ^ and not even need his car. It has a cigg lighter, for running 12v accessories.

Wait, so it says sealed battery so there is a battery inside that cannot be recharged and you just toss it when it's done? I Couldn't see anything on the specs about this.

It says in description on the site that you can charge it with an included AC adapter at your house.(I know some sites used to for campers, like a decade ago--do they still have 'em?)

Too many projects, too little time...

your camping... turn the phone off and camp. when we go camping we hike miles away from the car and forget about all that shit.

plug in a volt meter. when it gets down to 12.4v turn the car on for a few min. if it gets to 12.4v a lot faster than last time, charge longer.

If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood.

Normally I would but I do need iPod to sleep (i'm like a child in that respect) and e-cigs to prevent me from smoking regular cigs.. and the phone is basically just for porn and video games, which I won't be able to eat my catered dinner without.

Yes, far from roughing it, but it's a music festival so not really actual camping for the sake of camping (which I'm fine with too).
