Really the only way is for you to listen to as many as you can. Unfortunately that most likely wont be many unless you have a shit ton of audio shops near by. Like I said, I like MBQ but they are kinda harsh sometimes and a lot of people dont like them. Some of the Alpines sound pretty good to me too. I am kinda in the same boat as you, I want to stray away from my 10 year old MBQ's but they scream so gooood. Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. Arson d(-__-)b beer sucks...but i can bring some jose cuervo. Only problem is that it makes me horny and gives me the rams. A amp will be as safe as a HU, if it's the same wattage.(HU amps probably put out 10-15W RMS.) If the gain is set correctly it shouldn't be a probblem. Thinking is the root of all problems...
