The kind that put out sound.

EDIT:What do you mean with 'clear'?

Bullet tweeters sound clear, but they scream.

Glass is clear, but i don't think they make glass dome tweeters...

Thinking is the root of all problems...

clear like they get loud without distorting. i knew this guy he had just a pair of kicker tweeters running off his radio (which may have been his prob) and they sounded like crap. which leads me to another question...i heard from a "professional" that tweeters will last longer running off you radio instead of off a amp cause the amp will blow them easier. is there any truth in that?

I think that was meant to be a smart ass comment....

Really the only way is for you to listen to as many as you can. Unfortunately that most likely wont be many unless you have a shit ton of audio shops near by.

Like I said, I like MBQ but they are kinda harsh sometimes and a lot of people dont like them. Some of the Alpines sound pretty good to me too. I am kinda in the same boat as you, I want to stray away from my 10 year old MBQ's but they scream so gooood.

Bullet tweeters get loud without distorting, but they do sound harsh.

A amp will be as safe as a HU, if it's the same wattage.(HU amps probably put out 10-15W RMS.)

If the gain is set correctly it shouldn't be a probblem.

hook up some ID horns under your dash facing right at your head :D

X2 on the ID horns. Heard them once and they were truely AMAZING. Maybe the fact that the were in a SQ comp car helped though, who knows.
