BluX Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) Just a little something from before I redid the box completely. Updates tomorrow! It sounds a lot better and also I tweaked the settings on the amp and head unit so you will hear a big difference. BluX Posted May 2, 2010 Author Report Posted May 2, 2010 (edited) Okay... so last week, I built this box. I had went to Home Depot and had them cut my wood, which resulted in extremely f*cked up cuts, so I had to rush home before it got dark, after waiting 4 hours for them to cut my wood, I went over the cuts and tried to save a few pieces, had to buy a whole new sheet and make some cuts myself. Most of the cuts were either an inch too small or an inch too big. Luckily, I was able to borrow a table saw and I ended up being able to build a semi-decent box. I rushed home, assembled the box and quickly glued it together. The next day, I put the box in my Explorer and went to see how it sounded. First impressions... DAMN! It has been almost... 4 years maybe, since I've had a system. So, tonight, my goal is to re-glue all potential leaks and carpet the biatch. I was able to see light coming in from where the pieces of wood meet together, so I know there were leaks. This thing is not going back in my truck until I am completely sure that there are no leaks. I probably went overkill with the glue, but better safe than sorry, right? Other than the carpeting and sealing up leaks, I will be sanding the part by the port that sticks out about 1/8th of an inch too far. Hopefully I will see a difference after all this work. More pics to come. Edited May 3, 2010 by BluX Quote BluX 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Mach 5 MJ-18 (4 Ohm) Alpine MRP-M1000 Alpine 9813

BluX Posted May 2, 2010 Author Report Posted May 2, 2010 Did you use any clamps/screws? I had one C clamp lol... I did use screws, yes, but on the 1st baffle, most of the screws were used, then the 2nd baffle, only 4 were used and those screws were tightened into the braces. Shoulda used more clamps Quote BluX 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Mach 5 MJ-18 (4 Ohm) Alpine MRP-M1000 Alpine 9813
