best equipment?

I'm new here. Not new to car audio though. I'm familiar with Steve Meade and his past setup and his current. Familiar with a lot of the top notch builds here. Familiar with car audio as a whole and i know how everything works. I know people will answer with the answers pertaining to the equipment they run or what they have heard. I just want an overall answer on what's best to get. I drive a 2002 grand am se. I want to run a single 18''. I plan on replacing both batteries, doing the big 3, running 0g wire through out the whole car. I want to go ported. The box will be built both inside the trunk, and sticking out a little bit into the cab with the port firing into the cab. I have about 6-7 cubic ft of airspace to work with including the port. I want to go cheap. In other words, something that will last me a long time, but nothing thats over priced like JL. As for competing, i probably won't. But i want to at least be 150 or a little higher on the termlab. So i'm going to do this like an application. Fill out what you think would be best for me.

Amp - Sundown 3.5k or 4.5k

Alternator - DC or Iraggi

Comps - Go listen to them for yourselves

Highs amp - sax 100.4 or any good class a/b

Batteries - XS Power

Wire - Knukonceptz or Darvex

well i know budget is a big concern, but the reason i didnt put it is because ill buy whatever it takes to get it done. the way i see it, everything revolves around the sub. the sub itself, the highs, mids, etc. the amp to power it. the box to hold it. the alt and batts to power everything. i dont really want to go more than 500 total for a sub. i know materials should cost around 1000 more or less to build the box, and seal off everything and such. if i had to pick a budget, including cost of materials, id say probably 5-7k. id like to go cheaper though. the only problem with going cheaper is you get what you pay for. i want to be loud. but i also want good equipment that will last.

You're gonna have a real hard time chasing 150.

18's in the trunk are a pain and almost always end up in compromising boxes. I'd look into 2 good quality 12's and 3-4kw.

what about a 15? i'd like to stick with just 1 sub. my trunk is very small. thats why im going to have to extend it into the cab.

2 12s is more cone area then a single 15 so your get louder using up the same space as you would with the 15. as already said thoguh GL on a 150
