Alright I have a question. I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Mirage LS Coupe that not to long ago I replace all of the sound system. I have JL Audio in the doors and back, and I know I will catch some heat for this a Dual (brand) Sub-woofer in the trunk. The 4 speakers are powered by a JL Audio e4300(45wX4 4ch), my sub by the ol RF Punch 501s (1500w 2ch), and all ran by a Kenwood Excelon X493. I have all my RCAs ran on the driver side and the power and remote ran on the passenger side. Both amps are mounted on the sub box in the trunk. My problem is, is that I am getting engine noise from the bass RCAs but its coming out of my back speakers not the sub-woofers themselves. Right now I have a ground loop on the RCAs for the bass and that gets rid of the noise. I want to know if there is a way to get rid of it the noise without using it. The power cable is ran from my car's battery which is Duralast gold. It powers both amps using a distributor block and same with the ground going out. Ground is connected to the back seat bolt, where I sanded the paint off to make a good contact.

I'll appreciate any suggestions on how to fix it or make it better. If pictures of the set up are needed let me know.

Thanks.

It's bolted to where the folding seats are bolted to the car. I'll take some pictures and upload them so it's easier to diagnose.

^^^ Do it, i dont know the seat isn't a good ground in the first place. (Who Knows) but amps hate when they are grounded to seat frame seat bolts. So try to find a better ground like n8ball said.

Better ground FTW.

lower tuning is just hard. I was surprised how loud 145 sounds at 35hz, and how quiet 145 sounds at 50hz.

Did you try running a new set of sub rcs cables without installing them. maybe the cable is bad, pinched, screwed into or over stretched. if the noise is still there while you have the new cable ran, ground the outside of the rca to the chassis of the radio. just slide a wire on when you connect the rca to the radio making sure the wire doesn't touch the inside prong. then remove a screw from the chassis off the radio and wrap the wire around it. maybe the radio is not grounding the rca outside ground.

I tried new RCAs and the problem still happens. I have tried some alternate grounds and have had no luck. Here are some pics of the setup.

Pardon my messy wiring.

yes your ground sucks. ground to your frame(is a mirage a unibody?) sand to the bare metal and make sure that it cant move.
