hamel52
should the remote wire going to your amp read a different voltage than your power? i tested with a dmm and the power was at 14.2 and the remote was only at 13. does that mean anything... oh by the way i cant get my amp to work it worked for about 5 min then shut off and hasn't worked again. hdorre
The remote wire is about 18 gauge so it carries less current. That says something... audiofanaticz
A headunit remote wire almost always will read lesser on voltage since the headunit is wired thru the cars factory electrical system and has lots of resistance and the power wire for your amp is a way thicker gauged wire that will have way less resistance because it does not fish thru the entire electical system and fuse panels powering every electric component in your vehicle. If you think your remote wire is the problem, try jumping straight 12 volts from your amps power wire to the remote terminal. If it dont turn on your amp is probably bad, or you have a bad connection on your power wire, or ground.
