CheezyMane13 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 im just wondering what the advantages of have a t-line instead of a slot port are, or vise versa well obviously a t-line the port is longer thanks! Well I have a T-Line for each one of my 15"s adn I pulled them out of a ported box that I had them in. Man am I glad you tell em what you think This is a regular old POS slot port box My T-Lines seeing just slightly more power, but a huge noticeable difference take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey 1998 Chevy Venture "Swagger Wagon" Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 Headunit 3 15" Alpine Type R's in seperate T-Lines 1 RF T1500-1bd for 2 of the 15s 1 RF P1000-1bd for the single 15 3 sets of Hifonics Zeus ZXi6.5C Components( 1 more set to come for Front stage) 1 Hifonics HFi100.4 4-channel amp Stock alt for now (DC HO SPL 400A when funds come in,currently working on buying this) Stock battery and one Optima Redtop for now (looking at XS batteries) 3 15" Alpine Type R's (aka Swagger Wagon Build 1.0) Swagger Wagon Build 2.0 Youtube Videos
zfrerichs Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 You'll shred tripple joints, tear surrounds, and bottom out you woofers if you give them their rms rating in a t-line Roseville, CA
CheezyMane13 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 You'll shred tripple joints, tear surrounds, and bottom out you woofers if you give them their rms rating in a t-line Dude I'm giving them exactly what there rated at or more then there rated power. I mean I'm pretty sure my amp is putting out the power its rated at, Its a T1500-1bd and Im usually in the 13v range, never lower then high 12.9v. And that amp is rated at like close to 1800w RMS at 1ohm with 14.4v take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey 1998 Chevy Venture "Swagger Wagon" Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 Headunit 3 15" Alpine Type R's in seperate T-Lines 1 RF T1500-1bd for 2 of the 15s 1 RF P1000-1bd for the single 15 3 sets of Hifonics Zeus ZXi6.5C Components( 1 more set to come for Front stage) 1 Hifonics HFi100.4 4-channel amp Stock alt for now (DC HO SPL 400A when funds come in,currently working on buying this) Stock battery and one Optima Redtop for now (looking at XS batteries) 3 15" Alpine Type R's (aka Swagger Wagon Build 1.0) Swagger Wagon Build 2.0 Youtube Videos
steven Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I have been wanting to build some t-line for my lvl 5 10s, but I didnt know how they would like it. So in t-line the tuning is irrelevant because there is no back pressure or what?
CheezyMane13 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 I have been wanting to build some t-line for my lvl 5 10s, but I didnt know how they would like it. So in t-line the tuning is irrelevant because there is no back pressure or what? There is tuning in a t-line, it is actually made to try to match up to the Fs of the sub. So for instance, a t-line made for a 15" shit brand would be the same as that of a t-line for a 15" DC lvl4 xl. Hmmm Give me ideas for the future. take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey 1998 Chevy Venture "Swagger Wagon" Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 Headunit 3 15" Alpine Type R's in seperate T-Lines 1 RF T1500-1bd for 2 of the 15s 1 RF P1000-1bd for the single 15 3 sets of Hifonics Zeus ZXi6.5C Components( 1 more set to come for Front stage) 1 Hifonics HFi100.4 4-channel amp Stock alt for now (DC HO SPL 400A when funds come in,currently working on buying this) Stock battery and one Optima Redtop for now (looking at XS batteries) 3 15" Alpine Type R's (aka Swagger Wagon Build 1.0) Swagger Wagon Build 2.0 Youtube Videos

After I find this out its time for another build log lol.
CheezyMane13 Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 So how do you calculate the tuning? After I find this out its time for another build log lol. Here you go http://dbdynamixaudio.com/62/dual-fold-on-axis-transmission-line-enclosure-calculator/ At the top you will see calculator, if you go to that, it will show the different types that you can build. take baby steps, u cant do it all at once unless u have a roll of 100's big enough to choke a donkey 1998 Chevy Venture "Swagger Wagon" Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 Headunit 3 15" Alpine Type R's in seperate T-Lines 1 RF T1500-1bd for 2 of the 15s 1 RF P1000-1bd for the single 15 3 sets of Hifonics Zeus ZXi6.5C Components( 1 more set to come for Front stage) 1 Hifonics HFi100.4 4-channel amp Stock alt for now (DC HO SPL 400A when funds come in,currently working on buying this) Stock battery and one Optima Redtop for now (looking at XS batteries) 3 15" Alpine Type R's (aka Swagger Wagon Build 1.0) Swagger Wagon Build 2.0 Youtube Videos
Miles Posted May 17, 2010 Report Posted May 17, 2010 The tuning of a T-Line will be the Fs of the sub. To figure length of the line, divide the speed of sound by the Fs, then divide by 4. To figure the "port" area, that's just whatever the surface area of the sub is. Simple as that..
