Tek Posted May 18, 2010 Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 I have been wanting to tint my tail lights, but 01 Azteks have a problem with just about every exterior light, that involves the clear coat cracking. I would like to just remove the clear coat, tint the lights, and than put a layer of clear coat over THAT. I don't want to sand down the light too much though and have it look like shit. AUDIOADDICT02 Posted May 18, 2010 Report Share Posted May 18, 2010 (edited) You could try 320 or 400-grit sandpaper to remove the old clearcoat and 600-grit wet sandpaper to prep the lights for a new layer of clear coat...one thing though, DON'T use spray paint clear coat, it always ends up cracking the same....
