What im saying is you can make 95% of subs sound great if you are experienced in installing the paricular sub, such as the people winning SQ comps using L7's. But I guess a persons ear/preference for SQ varies from person to person. ¿ǝɯɐƃ ǝɥʇ Trolls never learn............ baaudio
x2, its just that most noobs own Kicker L7's which are usually in a super small as ported box, with port area that would put your neighborhood Virgin to shame. Like the saying many people go by its 85% install, 10% equipment, and 5% snacks that make an install work. Edit: And what I mean about noobs arent noobs on the forum specifically but the people that buy an L7 and put it on a 3000watt Pyle amp and just cut there Walmart Prefab sealed box to fit the L7 then bore a hole in the side to port it. Does this mean I'm a noob w/ L7s.... notorious97200
I had one '06 Kicker L7 S15 in a small sealed box, and it was not sounding so good. But the same one in a much bigger box was nice ! Then I sold it (a really nice deal !) and got 2 '08 L7 S15. Mine was in a 3 ft3 sealed box and was just ok, but still heavy as h&£*^, and the second one was in a +5ft3 sealed box and was soooo loud and playing so low !!!! I've never heared them in a good ported box. I can't compare them to a SSA Icon : they are louder and give you an heavier bass, but the Icon sounds sooooo nice, there is much more definition and accuracy. The xcon sounds like the Icon with much much more spl : it's the Icon on steroïds !!! I would get 2 xcons 15" or 18" instead of the L7's. L7's are nice, but they absolutely need big enclosures. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 amp with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a 2.6 ft3 ported box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
Stallion Marauder
I just bought the new L7 15's and got to experiment almost every year they came out with.. Sound real good and got mad SQ in em. Thats if you know how to power em in a good sealed box. If you put em in the right box, wires, power and certain songs these things f*kin move. 2003 Mercury Marauder Black (R.I.P) Tinted Windows Purple HID's 10000K Fog Light HID's 10000K Swi Jack Steering Wheel Controls Apple I-Pod Classic 80GB Alpine KCE-422i Full Speed I-Pod Cable Alpine IVA-W203/P1 Navigation/Bluetooth Alpine PKG-M780 7' Headrest Screens Alpine PXA-H701 Sound Processor Alpine MRP-F300 4 Channel Amp Rockford Fosgate 1501bd Power Amp 2 Kicker L7 15' Solo Barics Alpine Type R SPR-17S Component's Alpine Type R SPR-57C Coaxial's Monster Performance RCA's 0/2 Gauge Wires BIG III W/Fuse 200 Amps Custom Built Alternator Yellow Cap Optima Battery Front Xstatic Batcap 800 Back Custom Mounted Bass Knob LED's 2x License & Trunk Light BoYo VTK-350 Color Backup Camera Dynamat Xtreme Front Doors & Rear Deck Clifford Matrix 50.7X Alarm System/Remote Start
