question on aeroports!

hey everyone, i am planning on building a custom box for a little project this summer and am going to throw a lanzar opti1232d in it. the website says the recommended specs should be about 1.8 cubes and tuned to about 35 hz. i was thinking about going a little bigger to 2.0 cubes and tuning it down towards 32-33 hz. my question is about the aeroport length... i used this calculator http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 and at the bottom is a way to calculate port length. i entered 2 ports, 2 cubes, 32 hz and 3'' port diameter. the vent length comes out to 16.41'' which seems very long! would this number be divided by 2 because there are two ports or is each 3'' port supposed to be 16.41''? any help or recommendations for my setup would be great!

Yes sir, it should be around 16" each port, what car is it? maybe you could get port so a side, that way, they can fit depending on the box wide, besides that, those ports would take around 0.2 cubic feet, you would end up with 1.8 c/f after port displacement...

its going in a 98 explorer sport. i used the smd box calculator (thanks for the link!) and came out with a gross volume of 2.41 cubes with .13 cubes of port displacement (with 2 3'' diameter, 13'' long ports) so the net total is 2.28 cubes tuned to 32 hz. i gave it a little more displacement because i have to factor in the displacement of the sub itself right? im not quite sure what it is but i figured it wasnt more than .28 cubes? i appreciate the help guys..im kind of new to this! again any suggestions are welcome!

With a little bit of internet searching you should be able to find the sub displacement of your subs. Then you get the number for one, multiply it by 2 and subtract that from your final number.
