EclipseChris Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Almost every time i downshift from 4th or 3rd down to 2nd my amps cut out for long enough for me to notice, but not long enough to reset the amps. Its just a short cutout of music and its not every single time, but its getting more frequent. Any ideas? Quote i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. superdave07 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 honestly sound like a ground issue, when the load is greater on the engine the alt surges. might be causing this? I used to have some radio wine, only when i let off the gas or down shifted. Added some grounds...problem solved. just an idea Quote Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com

My amps are grounded to my rear shock mounts and my bug 3 was upgraded as well. I feel like if there is a problem with my grounds, then i shouldn't ever do car audio again because i can't do them any better. Quote i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. etaks_crew Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 I don't know if a ground is your problem, But I had bad ground noise even after sanding paint off and I tried a few different locations. I finally said F it and ran ground from the front battery to the back back battery,I haven't had a ground issue since. Quote

Thats a great idea, but if i had the money for that, i would have done it a long time ago, i would try that for sure but i just don't have money for that. Quote i resolve to be a nicer moderator. white4d96 Posted June 9, 2010 Report Posted June 9, 2010 Did you beef up your engine to chassis and/or engine to battery? I would try that if you haven't. Quote Too many projects, too little time...

I have done engine to battery, have not done engine to body (unibody) because the bolts WILL break if i pull them. Quote i resolve to be a nicer moderator. Tercel build R.I.P. I'd suggest doing it, I managed to, I just found the factory grounding point, and replaced the thin as 12awg with 2 250 to 300 amp straps, it works fine. It's a manual eh? I think I can remember from the vids.
