Hey steve, what are all of these fuses on top of your alts? are you fusing from the alts to the battery in the front, or the batteries in the rear? or, i have no idea??? ???

I was also lookin at the escalade you did, that is the sickest sh*t i have ever seen. The colors and the plexiglass, incredible man! keep on posting new pics, i wanna see the civic when it is finished.

thanks man  ;D 8)

those fuses run from those fuses back to the batterys in the rear.  For a short run like the front battery its probably not necessary but for long runs with wire ran under the car and passing into the cabin i feel safer with it like that.  I guess the only way they would come into play would be if i had a major short while the car was running.  I also have a 300amp fuse at each battery so if anything happens im protected from both directions.

How did you get started in car audio? i know a pretty good amount of things considering i've done a few installs, but i wanna go further. What do you recommend? audio school?? internships???

Will you ever be attending any shows/events toward the eastcoast?? i wanna see your stuff in person!!!

Well Im not sure how he got into it but I know for a fact he went to a school( well sorta)

Back in 91' or 92'  A local shop here in town (paradyme,  www.paradayme.com small plug :) ) worked with Soundstream real close and had classes every weds nite at one of there shops, where a Soundstream tech came in and taught a bunch of us the basics and more.  thats where I first heard of Steve Meade him and his Toyota Celica.

so there is some history that I know. I'll let him tell the rest

While i wait for meades history, here is another question that bugs the crap outta me...

I am tryin to figure out how to determine what alternator, as well as how many batteries i will need to run my system. Is there any guidelines to determine these values. For example lets say i have a 5000 watt system, can i plug that into an equation, or some sort of outline to determine what size alternator i need, and how many batteries, or if i wanted an 8000watt system, same thing....  ??? :o ???

if you ask me i'd say get the biggest alternator you can get. get you a 315 amp along with 2 - 4 batteries and that should be more than enough for 5000 watts

2-DC 15XLM2 D.7s

1-DC 5K amp

(1) XS Power D6500(UNDERHOOD) and (1) XS3000(REAR)

3 runs 1/0ga for power and 2 runs of 1/0ga for negative.

(2)-RFT165s components, ...... 4 separate 1 inch tweetersRF T600-2(fronts) Punch 450.4(rear)

Audiocontrol 3.1.

DC power 260amp alternator w/MLA Module

no prob man ill help when i can.  I belong to a few forums so its hard to keep up and i might miss some stuff so if anyone sends me a message and i dont get right back thats why.  Hell im just now reading some stuff that was said in '05.......good and bad  >:( oh well too late to respond on those oh well.

If you love doing this and you want to go further i just say keep getting your hands dirty, doing all your homies rides.......building boxes, polishing your skills.  It would never hurt to work at a shop and learn all the basics...you pick up so many little tricks and tactics that you never forget and use the rest of your life as well as coming up with your own.  Working at a shop might make it not so much fun, more of a task though so you need to weigh out whether you love it as a hobby or want to make a living out of it.

I might come out east if everything goes right, im just not into that long ass drive so ive been known to say NAHHHHHH to world finals just because its so far and no other reason.  ;D
