PUNKYOU007
I know I know , another thread about what to buy Well i have an 01 suburban. I want to [ut bags on it but I am not looking to lay frame. Actually I pretty much want the same thing as Steve but I am on a much different budget. I just want to have as much travel as possible without having to do extensive modifications to the truck. Dont wanna notch the frame or put a fancy 4 link in or nothing along those lines. I want to tuck my 22's nicely. I know Airbagit.com is one to stay away from....but would I be wise to take advantage of there buy 2 get 2 deal on at least the bags? Labor I have taken care of... I just would like some help on everything else. Edited July 1, 2010 by PUNKYOU007 Quote Doethepaperboy "Bars of Pain" Doethepaperboy "Hero Remix" C. meade916
You will be doing extensive and permanent mods no matter how you do it. Even my setup took a few days and had a ton of cutting, welding and homeade parts. Not as much as if i was going to lay it out but DEFINITELY not bolt-up. are you talking Ridetech? they have shockwaves for the front that are less expensive then mine. If you go that route, let me know i will help you. if your talkin about just bags up front, you will need to do some modding as well as relocating the shock. The rears are pretty easy but to get any kind of a drop you will need to butcher out the bump stop and the steel that holds the bump stop or it will bottom out hard, even on a 3/5 static drop you have to do that. i also have a DJM 3" drop AND a 2" spindle drop up front so i go lower then someone with standard shockwaves and stock control arms.....i would get the lowered, aftermarket control arms (along with the bags) in the very minimum or you might be dissapointed. sully
Air Ride Technologies is the way to go if you don't need it to lay all the way out. Check out the "free travel mod" for directions on how to cut out the rear bump stops and bracket and mount your own low profile bump stop on the frame. bullet0597
As said above, air ride technologies is the way to go. Yes, they are more expensive than well....any other brand i have ever seen i think lol, but are well worth it. Air ride technologies is whats on my cav and I love it. I see alot of cavi guys going to easy street (air lift) and having to replace strut bags all the time, while i and other ART guys have never had a problem.
