Box size and Tuning for FI BTL 12"

I Just bought a FI BTL 12 that is fully loaded. I would like to know what people are tuning there box's for the BTL's. I was thinking 2.5-2.6 cubic Ft. after displacement, tuned at 34 Hrz. What should my port opening and length be? I wanna try to get it right the first time so I don't have to do it again.

I emailed Nick at FI, and he told me this...........A 4x10" port will be 33" long in order to tune to 33Hz.

A 5 x 9" port will be 38.55" long in order to tune to 33Hz..

Doesn't that port sound a little big??

BTL 12 – Ported box we recommend using 1.75-2.5 cubic feet @ 30-35Hz (I personally think that a 32hz tuning is optimal, and has the most output and is still the most musical daily driving). Use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume.


So if you use 2.5 cu ft you would want about 30-40 square inches of port area. In the comment I quoted above from Fi's site they say 32 Hz is best, so for 2.5 cu ft with 40 sq inches of port area lets use 4"x10". I use Bass Box Pro and it says the port length would be 38.94 inches long.

It'd be Easier to run a T-Line. I have a BTL12 in a T-line tuned to 26hz and it's clean, clear loud and pounds
