Robert8252
I have a 2005 Ford Taurus. Biggest alternator I can get is a DC 260a. I will be running around 4k. Probably a AudioQue 3500.1 and around 400 for mids/highs. I want to consider the D1400 but don't want to fork put a ton of money on doing so. So I was thinking of doing two D3100s in the trunk with a decent starting battery. Not sure what size though. But just going off of posted ratings of the batteries in theory I would need 4 or more D1400's to be able to handle the watts. I know I'm probably wrong with that math so please correct me and lead me in the right direction. And where is the best place to buy Xs batteries? Thanks and hope this isn't too confusing because I'm good at that sometimes. Robert8252
Oh. My goal of the question was more along the line of "I want to run 14volts, how many would it take"? Told you I would confuse you Quote 2013 F150 Crew Cab Old Build Log Feedback 2013 F150 Equipment - Some Awesome Stereo Sound Making Stuff
Robert8252
And just to answer all my questions what would it take to run D1600's as well. I know I would need 2 993 step-downs for my stock electrical but would I need 2 or 3 D1600's for that? Thanks! Nathan @ XSpower
For competition I would recommend 1 D1400/D1600 for every 1500watts. For daily use 1 D1400/D1600 for every 3000watts. So you would need 3 or 4 D1400/D1600 for competition use and 2 for daily use. Depends on what you plan on doing. If you are going to go 14V then I would use a D1400 as the starting battery(it would fit with little to no modification), but if you go with 12V then it looks like the D5100R would work for you. If you run 16V you will need at least 2 993 step downs.
