jeyrapboy Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Okay you guys just recently my mom was driving around and rolled her window down. When she went to roll it up it wouldn't budge. When i hit the switch i hear nothin from the motor and the window doesn't even budge. Car is a 93 Mercury sable The window is stuck ALL the way down and the rain is about to fuck her car all the way up. Any help is appreciated!
TLEJ Posted July 9, 2010 Report Posted July 9, 2010 Had this problem on my back 2 windows... When you hit the switch, do the lights dim? Do you know it's getting power? It's probably just a worn out regulator.. Runs about 40 dollars.. Try slightly pushing up on it while you hit the switch.

Had a motor go out before and if that was it it will move but keep getting slower and slower until it just stops. If you can get the door panel off and figure out which plug is for the motor, you should be able to run jumper wires to it and roll the window up for now. Too many projects, too little time...

I hit the switch and NOTHING happens, lights do not dim and motor does not make noise. Is i possible to raise the window and brace it in the mean time?

I will check out that idea when she gets off work today. I really dont want her to ride around town with a window that dont roll up. I would rather it be stuck up 4 the time being.

Turned out the window lock was on.... just thought I'd mention that Yea i thought about that. All the other windows roll up and down without problems. They all went out but that was a fuse.

I just did that to my moms car at 5 am. lol she has to work and it supposed to rain. Well after some searching and talking to my frinds. They say to hold the switch and hit the bottom of the window motor with a wrench. Might be able to get the window up at least.
