i don´t know, we built a friend´s car with 2 R´s 12" and a 2K amplifier and that shit pounds very nice, 145 dbs on the termlab also, i would go (if im short on money) with 4 Type R´s 15" with that big ass trunk, that´s a lot of cone area, 4 12´s would be very nice also but 15´s looks more impressive :peepwall:

I´m the SPL Gains topic creator!! wanna get louder?? check this: SPL Gains. Panamenian 2009 & 2010 & 2014 Bass Race 149.9 Champion!

I have 4 15 type rrrrrs and they do get pretty loud. no idea what i would hit on a TL but if your going to get 4 12 type rs I would give them more power than just that 1 hifonics amp. When I first got my rs I was running them on 2 aq 1200s strapped so 2400 rms and they got somewhat loud but not loud for having that much cone area. Im giving them around 5k now and the difference is huge. the type r 12s will get loud if you make a good box and throw some power at them. Id think about getting another 18 and getting some better power to them.

true im just saying if i were to get another 18 though im not sure what i will do

If you got another 18 you could, depending on how much power you want to give them get an amp like the AP3000 which is rated at 2 ohms cuz its 2 1500s internally linked, or get 2 different amps and strap them so they are stable to 2 ohms (1 ohm per amp) of beef up your electrical a bit and get yourself a nice amp and wire them to .5 Pretty sure all sundown amps can easily handle .5 because .5 usually isnt exactly .5 final load after rise, I know you cant rely on rise to save your amp from wiring it too low but I have 4 d4s wired to .5 and it reads .6 sometimes .7 on my dmm

For the 500 get another 18 and another amp, and you would have more cone area than 4 12s and twice as much power. Just my 2 cents
