channel variation?

I recently set up a 4 channel amp to run my mids and high. As i was setting the gain i noticed that the channel 1(right) runs a higher voltage that the channel 2(left). the more you turn the volume up the bigger the difference.

For example: at 3/4 volume the voltage im going for is 12, i can get #1 to 12, but #2 stays around 10. I've tried multiple sets of RCA's, checked and double checked the fade and balance and all connections and the problem still persists. It works fine, and isnt noticable when playing music, but i would really like to get them matched. If it helps the amp is a TMA 320.4(same as JL). Any help is appreciated!

if you switch the rca's around, does the problem still stay at that channel?

no, you can switch them and get it to change from left to right, but i've tried multiple sets of brand new RCA's :/

If you switched them and the output voltages change, then it's your pre-out voltage. Check the RCA voltage at full volume to verify it. If it is different, you can attempt using line driver to match them up, but it's the source that's the main problem.

If not, I'd say leave the stronger channel on the passenger side to balance it virtually. 2V difference won't be noticable and this is VERY common, so you're not alone.

^ By this I mean you are the primary driver and most likely alone most of the time, so it's a better setup for you.

Sounds like the output on your head unit might be sending different voltages, New Headunit
