speedball1978
just wanted to see what everyone's opinion is , 2 18's or maybe 2 15's in a trunk , max height in the trunk is actually 16 inches so the subs would actually be facing up??? just thinking up some ideas for mooooooooooooooooore bass for my malibu lol
IH8PunkRok
ive done 2 15's facing forward in a 14" tall trunk very possible just make sure you have the airspace for the box Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
EricR
Thing is when you put big subs in a trunk the enclosure usually takes up most of the space in the trunk not letting the pressure escape to the cabin. 2 18's sealed maybe, not ported and built correctly. Quote i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work? speedball1978
ok well that shouldn't be a problem at all how much airspace would i be looking at for 2 15's or 2 18's i'm gonna measure the trunk space to see if there's enough... before i make the big decision
nCOMP1337
i contemplated 18s as well, but currently at 15s, my trunk is taller than 16 inches but if the box going in is taller than 16.5 inches, it will not fit through the opening, and even though my seats fold down, still wouldnt be room in the back seat to push box through, although i supposed if you built the entire system within the car already it would be possible, maybe mount subs from inside of box rather than outside, dunno

cc_audio
I've managed to squeeze one 18" and 6 cubes inside one of the smallest most awkward trunks I've ever worked out of. If I could have afforded two 18s at the time, I would have loved to have tried to squeeze two in there. I would say width would have been my biggest challenge in my trunk, the limited 16" height was easy to overcome. Width would have been a struggle. But I say go for it. Quote It's all gone!
