OEM intergration, High to Low converters

So i just bought an 08 honda civic and got rid of my truck that i had my system in, i kept everything but i have a few questions. The car came with a Navigation system and i would like to keep it, i know my pioneer deh510ub would be better but the navi is cool. So i was looking around and Hifonics makes a high to low converter, which im guessing is like an rca adapter but makes it low instead of high detail. They make a mx1,mx2,mx3,and mx4 i think and the only difference i can see is more ability to control all the different speakers and filters with the system. So i guess my question is, can i but one of these use it as an rca adapter, and keep my stock navi, and still have my system. If you could also tell me which model i should get i know other companies make them too, so any help is appreciative. Im just a little confused when it comes to the difference in crossovers, equalizers, and these things.

It changes the signal from the speakers to low level voltage suitable for the RCA input on a amp etc. as if you were to plug speaker cables into the amps input it would probably screw it.

If they have adjustments for crossovers etc. get whatever you need. It depends what you want to install. Are you sure you need one though? does your navi not have RCA outputs?

those navi's don't have rca preouts he needs a in line converter, the pac brand works just fine that way you can hook up your existing system to your headunit without losing the navi, trust me on this one, i had the same situation hope this helps

Alright thanks i think i understand. I used an rca adapter on my first system till i got a cd player so i guess ill look for a in line converter. Haha funny story about when i bought it the sales person was black no offense just saying and i thought he might know about audio stuff so i was like with this navi does it have rca inputs and he was like yeah, so he hit the open button and it was where you put in cds and stuff lol. And i was like i meant like rcas to hook my amp for my 2 12's and he was like ohh i guess not. haha

i used a Novone engineering adapter which puts out 10 volts preamp and also boosts the OEM HU EQ curve that lowers the bass as you turn up the volume. some OEM's do that so people dont blow the factory speakers.

yea go for that brank click on the link he gave you unless you already bought one, the one he referred you to seems to be a better brand, and probably would work much better than the pac brand, its worth a try
