Of course you cant upgrade the system without redoing the amp it appears that the amps have always been my problem so now that done with and i want to go BIG!!!! So heres what I came up with. I found a Autotek amp that seems to be exactly what I need. (specs below) and today I found basically the same thing but a Quantum Audio amp instead. Both are 4000 watts, 2 channel mono blocks, and both are 1 ohm stable which is exactly what I need for my subs. Which are 2 kicker L7 15" 2 ohm subs. I posted links to both of the amps specs below. The only difference is that if I get the Quantum Audio amp, it costs less so I might be able to afford getting a 6 farad capacitor. So what should i do? I have been researching quantum audio, there is a dealer here in sac and he says the amps are no good, they have alot of returns and soon as his current stock runs out they wont get anymore. Also, it looks like the Quantum is rated 4k x 1 at 1 ohm and the Autotek is rated 4k x 1 at 2 ohm, I am not sure if you have the subs you plan to use yet or not, so I thought I would point it out in case you didn't see that. If that is the case, you could get full bore power from the Autotek, but you would only get 1/2 power from the Quantum because you would be running either 2 ohm mono or 1/2 ohm mono.
