corteznewbie
i have a couple questions bout setting the gains. first if you dont have a o scope how else can i set the gain? and also i read that you have to basicly flat like all settings on the deck in order to set gain. so once the gain is set can i put the bass back up and set the cross over back to where it was ? corteznewbie
but my questions are A how to set gain if i dont have a o scope and B once gain is set will setting the crossovers on my deck and amp affect the chance of clipping? hdorre
A} you could use a Digital Multimeter. There's a sticky on how to do that and a conversion on here too. B} crossovers affect the chance of clipping, but it's usually nothing major. corteznewbie
so on my deck it goes from 50 hz to 125 hz then plus and minus settings. then it has a eg and separate bass boost. so once the gain is set flat how do i compinsate the settings with the cross over settings Team DBs (Driven By sound)

The answers are in that thread if you read down to the FAQ, but here goes... If you don't have an o-scope, you are blind. The only chance you have at getting close is to set it with a DMM, on which there are a few tutorials on a few different websites including this one. You always set the deck flat when tuning your gain. Don't use any bass boosters down the line either. And after you tune your amp with a DMM, changing your EQ or Bass knobs WILL affect your output.
