bad4health Posted July 29, 2010 Report Posted July 29, 2010 so boosting bass that wasnt there to start with is good? if you use boost it will put the sub into slipping(dirty power) sure it will go louder but it will sound like a chainsaw being taken to a cat. what happened to gain set with a o-scope to not to go into clipping? http://www.youtube.com/user/bad4health?feature=mhw5
bigmacfreak32903 Posted July 29, 2010 Author Report Posted July 29, 2010 My point is that you shouldn't be so biased towards bassboost just because steve says not to use it, or whoever told you its horrible.. You can get more performance out of your drivers by using a little boost as long as you do it properly. I am agreeing with you on this one. My gain is almost at halfway and I sometimes put the bass knob up all the way but even if I do I dont hear any distortion. It bumps way harder when I turn it up lol Vehicle:2002 Toyota sequoia limited edition Subwoofer:American bass xfl 12soon to be vfl comp Amp:2American bass phantom 4ks 4000rms (using one fornow) Headunit:Alpine cda 105 TL scre:141.75 at 35hz going to try to get it to a 45 with the new build! You can set gains with the bassboost set, it raises your voltage, which is why you adjust properly and test for clipping.
