white4d96
The tubes we used stayed flush with the ECU (and IIRC may have been bonded to the case? Been a few months since we did it) which is why they stayed. Probably could do without them. Too many projects, too little time...
nautical7
i would do that, but there is no where else to mount the battery with out taking other stuff out. the current intake tube i have on there is only temporary until i can get a real CAI for it or a short ram tube that has a different angle to it. i agree that it is too close to the engine. i'm going to research other sort ram kits soon. to hold over fo just a little longer. Can always mount the battery in the trunk.
justinadams
i would mount it in the trunk but that's where i have my second battery and my box. and space is really freakin tight back there. 2 12" memphis mojo mojo12d4 hifonics brutus bxi 2610D 1/0 power wire 4 gauge speaker wire ddm tuning 8000k 35w hids C&D technologies battery (100 ah) custom box tuned to around 45hz(designed buy fritosaregood) 2010 kia forte koup
OrionStang
Holy shit this thread is fail. What is all this talk of cooling the ECU? Whatever. My Ecu is front-right in the engine bay. A cooler-or-not ecu doesn't mean shit. You got a fucking Kia dude. It will take thousands of dollars to make it fast. Once again, thread fail. justinadams
First off I'm not trying to make it holy shit fast. Just a little extra power here and there. 2 12" memphis mojo mojo12d4 hifonics brutus bxi 2610D 1/0 power wire 4 gauge speaker wire ddm tuning 8000k 35w hids C&D technologies battery (100 ah) custom box tuned to around 45hz(designed buy fritosaregood) 2010 kia forte koup
skittlesRgood
this thread got me thinking about my car. i just took apart my air box and found my ECU in it as well. im just going to put the cone filter on the intake, take the air box out, mount the ecu to the wall so the filter will almost lay on the cooling fins. then im going to make a heat/rain shield out of sheet metal. just to make sure the ecu stays mostly dry. all the air will come from underneath the car. what do you think of that idea? If I answered you in a well mannered, informative way, you asked a good question or had a good attitude. If I was an asshole, you asked a stupid question or you had a fucktard attitude... or I was in a bad mood. nautical7
You got a fucking Kia dude. It will take thousands of dollars to make it fast. Once again, thread fail. Ha we all gotta start somewhere! An intake won't do much, if anything, but when you open it up it'll at least sound better but thats about it. justinadams
thank you cfallsguy. everyone' gotta start somewhere. my next upgrade will prolly be the exhaust. then prolly the turbo for it or maybe the ecu flash. we will see. and if not. at least i have a rather cool sounding engine. and intake give a little more power. i knew that when putting it in. i'm not a complete moron. i do my research before i do anything. 2 12" memphis mojo mojo12d4 hifonics brutus bxi 2610D 1/0 power wire 4 gauge speaker wire ddm tuning 8000k 35w hids C&D technologies battery (100 ah) custom box tuned to around 45hz(designed buy fritosaregood) 2010 kia forte koup
nautical7
Just keep it fairly stock and as a daily, trust me. Get another toy for making something quick and also so in case something would happen or you have the engine apart working on it at least you have another car. Intake and exhaust is all I would really get into, its cheap and easy.
justinadams
i agree. as soon as i get a real job i'm lookin at gettin somethin classic. like 1973 nova. and puttin a new engine in it. 2 12" memphis mojo mojo12d4 hifonics brutus bxi 2610D 1/0 power wire 4 gauge speaker wire ddm tuning 8000k 35w hids C&D technologies battery (100 ah) custom box tuned to around 45hz(designed buy fritosaregood) 2010 kia forte koup
