so i have a 1 by 1inch hole in the pipe off my header to my catalitec converter can this cause a problem with my engine (other then not passing inspection)

You may see some extra heat... But thats about it... I have one right on the header... I dont see problems at all... But i do plan on getting it fixed ASAP.

I dont know if theres a Main Muffler around your area but here they are all over the place they do good work for pretty cheap.

might need to get a new header tho just to be safe, look on the bright side. Good time for upgrade :clapping:

but my alt just died beat and no job yet and header fine it broke off where that little hook holds the pipe up

so it wont blow my motor up for not having back pressure

im no mechanic but im sure it would be fine for a lil while but cant be good for the engine in the long run

ideas to fix it (bare in mind i have access to all tools to do this probably) so i just need cheap ideas to fix

Your only going to damage your motor if runs too lean, causing burnt or bent exhaust valves. I have been running straight pipes for 2 months now no issues, but I run a safe kinda rich tune. There will be no mechanical issues, just extra noise and fumes, and maybe some low-end torque.

I've been doing exhaust work for 9 years and I don't like patching but if thats what you gotta do. Most parts places sell exhaust wrap that you can wrap over the hole and it should hold you for awhile, they also make an exhaust puddy that if the hole isn't too big you can fill it with that, but like I said i've never like doing that.
