moetpoppin
i dont think inverting them will change how you set the cross overs, I just dont see how it would effect your need for that. The only reason I have my sub inverted at the moment is because I have not wanted to drill holes in my pretty sealed box. When I am ready to complete it though and drilling holes for terminals so I can put it back in my boat, you better believe that bad girl will be flipped back over into a regular position. iceman1575
Any idea if Alpine's sound better inverted? I'm thinking about flopping my Type S's around just for kicks now. Quote POTATO!

Inverting a sub won't make the speaker sound any different, only change the acoustic properties of the enclosure. corteznewbie
so more internal air space helps lower frequencies? my daughter's aunt wants me to demo my jeep this weekend so u wanna try to hit low as possible for this. my self built box is on hold til my collar bone is healed and my ribs stop hurten. so i'm stuck with a prefab 45hz box. if i stuff it for a while with pollyfill will that help? Don't you put speaker in those enclosure things? MrSkippyJ
Don't you put speaker in those enclosure things? most people try too! What I was trying to say was a speaker (all things being equal) will sound exactly the same inverted or not. Of course, all things won't be the same if you simply invert the subs in the same box as the net volume of your box will change. Even then, a speaker will not magically sound better if it is inverted. Of course, I am answering his question assuming when he asked if it will sound better he means that from an SQ perception and not just to mean will it be louder.
