kx519
Some of the time when the internal ground circuitry goes out on an amp board, you get what you are hearing along with alternator whine... What are all the things along the inside of the case with the heat sink stuff on them. one of those has a mark where it got shorted out or something. TLEJ
We're sure this is the amp correct? What if you swapped amps out and see if it still happened? Sorry, I'm just trouble shooting.. EDIT: I should of read the second page... :X Good luck with it Edited August 26, 2010 by TLEJ
bobonit
When replacing mosfets, you should replace all of them with new ones that are of the same batch. Otherwise you are asking for more failures down the road. Quote 97 Maxima SE Bunch of shit going in, check out the build Build Log
UnderLoK
To me it sounds like it's going in and out of protect. Some amps make a weird ass squeal or scratching noise when they go into protect. I've heard it with MMATS and DAT. In both instances the amps were hosed (one had fried fets and no idea what was wrong with the other one). Bumpin the TWP
yeah those with the heatsinks are transistors, they amplify signals so that a pretty big part in an amplifier lol so if they blow then you will need to replace them, if your board is burnt in more places then id say ur amp is screwed and you should just get a new one Quote 2x Sundown Audio SA-15's nuff said for my little old car 1999 Plymouth Breeze Build Log
kx519
I'll try new mosfets, sounds simple enough and if that doesn't work then i'll fork out the money for a new amp. Any good places to buy new mosfets?
