16v charging on a 14v nominal, maybe.

18v charging on a 16v system, no. Maybe for burps, but you have to mod the protection or they just turn off.

I'm running a 12v electrical with a t10001bd (same line of amp, with the same protection voltage) cold days my voltage is in the 15.9-16.2v range, if it gets a quick bass note the voltage will spike to 16.5-16.7v and bam into protection it goes... Same with my T8004 except its even more sensitive to voltage spikes.

So even with a 14v nominal, 16v charging it will still see protect quite often without modding the protection circuitry.
