superdave07 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Heres the deal, In my daily driver this is my setup: Savant double din JL E2150 (mids) JL E1400d (subs) 2 12" dual 4ohm subs 1 set of Memphis pr 5 1/4" components in the front, no speakers in the rear (glassing rear door panels) My mids up front are extremely high, i have no mid sound at all really. Almost sounds like the 5 1/4 isnt even working. tweets are very loud, but you almost cant even make out the words of the song. even with the subs turned way down. Heres my question. This double din HU only has one RCA running for sub output, and im not sure if you can divide that signal so i ran my subs off the rear channel. subs sound great no issues, but being that i only ran my front mids off the front channel of the HU would that cause me to not have any mid bass? ive changed the mids amp and the comp. set with no change in sound really. tried to adjust the amp with some result but nothing like it should sound. anyways what do you all think? Autruche Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 so it has 5 preamps? front 2, rear 2, and 1 sub right? Both of the duals I had were like that. Just run one RCA to the sub amp and turn it into 2 with a y splitter. with my duals the front channels had less bass than the rear channels. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? EricR Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Sounds like you have the high pass on the amp on maybe? i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
superdave07 Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 high pass isnt on the amp thats what i thought too. see i didnt know if you could put a Y in the line or not...i will try that. but i still want to run my front mids off the front, and my rears off the rear lol. I need to try to adjust the amp some more i know that has to be the biggest part of the issue here.... Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com
EricR Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 Does the head unit have a high pass on it ? i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?
superdave07 Posted September 5, 2010 Author Report Posted September 5, 2010 it doesnt have much of an eq. just the normal bass treble F-R L-R & sub...im used to my alpine HU so this one has me all confused lol Xterra * 69 Camaro * Audi S5 36 Ford * 51 Mercury looking for wire sponsor www.flyracing.com
kingleo Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Try a preamp or a 3 way x-over to split your signal, if that doesn't work new HU, go back to Alpine. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/77708-2002-millenia-system-re-build/page__view__findpost__p__1070977__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1 http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110130-2000-acura-integra-gs-4-door/page__view__findpost__p__1536749__hl__%2Bmazda+%2Bmillenia__fromsearch__1
