wiring question

A buddy and I are finally getting around to putting an amp on my door speakers (not stock) and we were debating on how to hook the speakers up to the amp. The amp will be in the trunk. So all the wires will be ran back to the amp. Then to actually put the amp on the speakers isnt all it takes is speaker wire from the amp to the speakers and take the old wiring off? or is there something else were missing?

do i hook up the speaker wire thats always been there back up to the hu or just the two (pos neg)to the amp?

You don't néed the H/U wires. Just remove them from the speakers and put some electrical tape around the ends. Pos wire from speaker to pos on amp and neg of speaker to neg on amp.

wiring though the boot is a bitch, but by the time you get to the 3rd door you get the hang of it
