Autruche Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 and plus the mid is 6.5in wide not like the 6x9 that is only 6in wide.. would that be prob? Well, the stock speakers in the explorer were more like 5x7s, but a 6.5 to a 6x9, is easy. make the cutout diameter for the 6.5, then cut the board around that hole so it will be big enough for all of the stock screws to be able to screw into the wood, mount the speaker on the bottom of the board then screw the board up to the bottom of the 6x9 hole, the 6x9 screws shouldn't touch the 6.5 at all. I'd do it cuz you can make the adapters for like $3. Need Test Tones/Sine Waves? thumper806.yellowcity Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Get you some masonite trace out the shape of the 6x9's the cut out the shape of the 6.5 in the center. And for the flush mounted tweeters get a drill and a cut out hole for a drill that is the size of the cutout for the tweeter and line up both panels and make sure they are even and drill away. Good luck "NOT AT THE TABLE CARLOS"
