theBroken Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 I got 2 JL Audio M770-CCS-SG-WH component speakers. They are 100W RMS Power and 300W Peak Power. I driving 75w to them. My issue is when I turn it up to loud the tweeters either stop working or they get real quiet. The speaker will keep climbing up in volume but the tweeter just stop or get quite. Is this a protection in the crossover or is this normal? I assumed that since I'm only putting 75w to them that they are not over powered. They are running off a Soundstream DTR4.500 which is running them and then also 2 rear 8" door speakers...

theBroken Posted September 16, 2010 Author Report Posted September 16, 2010 So... How did u set the gains? The amp powering them is set on mid, 4v, bass boost off, and the gain is at about 25% on the dial.
