I'm still on DDs nuts ... I do have 3 dd amps sitting here ....

But, the reason we went away ( we = me and jeff ) was because they didn't wanna help jeff out at all. I made the call to rusty and he hooked us up proper. I was a dealer for dc for quite sometime, besides what wrong with liking a conpanys products butvrunning something else?

This isn't the place to discuss this though.

This thread just became pointless due to everyone having their bandwagon...

I love Fi now will the Dc's get louder in this test most likely because like said earlier the lvl 5's will be at their limit. The SMD will not be close to it.

Also the results will be to the OP's liking because besides the numbers its his opinion. I have my opinions on what i've heard but thinking just the subs affect the Sq and SPL that you get out of a system is

as said before this will show what he likes and what does better in HIS setup.

Bandwagon ppl should stay out of this unless you got a open mind

so a sub rated at 20k on a burp getting ~10k watts of burp is maxing it out...i think its got another 10k of burp on her. *disclaimer yes the 20k would have to be in a "perfect scenario" blah blah blah..as far as music...yea the SMD will most likely play longer at a louder volume...got a lot more VC to disperse heat...doesnt mean the Level 5 CANT do it though. if hes looking for music yea one may be louder than the other but one may play for longer. depends what hes looking for deathmatches? a little more at competitions? long ass demos? what we can say is this test has not even been done yet and both sides are already counting the other side out. once the results are up im either going to see either some DC people in an upset and pulling back their statements SMD guys saying YEA SMD WINS then each who said the test was invalid and stupid will try to smear it in DCs face as if it WERE a valid test...or the DC guys cheering on that DC won and out performed a sub w a 4 inch coil and the SMD guys getting all mad and yelling it was an invalid test and blah blah blah...

i myself will say i think this is a pretty kool test just to see what will be better for his application...yea im a DC guy leaning for the Level 5 but i still think the SMD is a badass sub and if it out performs for his scenario...i got no hate...i think that sub is pretty beastly and i got excited when i first saw it

I will say this...the Defiant Hummer...when they had the Mayhems in...it sounded much louder and hit higher on the mic...dropped the SMDs in the same box...and from Elliot himself said the SMDs are more speced for that box than the Mayhems..for those subs and with MORE POWER the score went down. Now if it takes more power and the set up gets QUIETER then somethings not right...i rather spend less money on the sub and the amps and the electrical system..get louder then have to do MORE just to get less sound..at least in that scenario.

also im pretty sure if SMD wasnt in the title and it was JUGGERNAUT vs DDZ most likely neither of us would even chime in so you dont really have much to go for as far as band wagon with the AA. all you guys out there call us DC guys nut huggers for loving our gear yet SMD or AA comes up and someone says "DCs probably gonna get louder" it turns into a big fight...this is funny..yea i love my DC but i think its funnier seeing all this going on

have you seen Steve at comps? IIRC I've seen him pull a 162.3 well it was louder then a 160.5 with his DD's

how do you know we don't have a commercial address? Were also a dealer for American bass, metra called me last week, wanting us to sell their product, on the contrary, ascendant has contacted me as well.

That's what I'm thinking I'd rather get 2 or 3 dc's for price because im not rich and to have to give a sub that costs twice as much as a dc then have to give it 3 times the power for it be equal plus all the more electrical id have to upgrade id rather go with dc on less power for the same results. Commercial addy =/= storefront.

Im all for supporting the brick and mortar stores, but when I can make a phone call, and become a dealer with a buy-in, and nothing more is asked about it, then there is a problem.

Of course I know about calling direct, I bought my first ~3 subs that way.
