AA98hoe Posted September 28, 2010 Report Share Posted September 28, 2010 You wont have enough power i had 3500 rms per lvl 5 and they laughed at it. also the 5 is picky whith its enclosures i tried 2 different boxes with them and didnt get what i wanted. in fact blew 3 of them. imo the xl is dcs best bang for the buck. they are musical and get loud.check out my other posts. i play music all day and burp a 154 with no smell and only 7k even tho they will take alot more. Alpine has a sd 12k on 2 and does fine. Team_DC-Derrick Posted September 28, 2010 Report Share Posted September 28, 2010 if he can keep his voltage up, i dont see why he cant get 13k out of that amp, he is wiring it to .5 ohm and its rated at 11,800 at 12v or something like that... so at .5 on 15v or higher, he should see 13 or 14k out of that amp with low impedance rise. so i would say go with the 5s, and if it isnt loud enough, upgrade amps..
