I recently bought an SA 8 from you about 2 weeks ago..It was a D2 configuration and I cooked it..Guess the power i gave it in the T-line wasnt very healthy..I was wondering if I order a recone if i could get it in a D4 configuration this time so maybe that will solve the power issue. By the way im still very happy with your products and service bro.

Yes you can use a D4 coil -- does yours have bolted down spider ? If so you will also need a new frame... unless you want to spent 3 hours getting the ring off

To be totally honest i have no idea..I know its the brand new style of SA that you released so i would say Yes

In that case it is bolted down -- I would HIGHLY recommend getting the new frame as well.

Also - you will get a brand new updated part with your re-cone New spiders that will be making production units in December will start appearing on re-cones as of next week.

Ok well I appreciate it.. I just wish i could figure what went wrong and why the 8 blew..I talked to several people and they said that i was no where near close to overpowering it.So when it blew i was disappointed

If you have an open coil you probably broke the tinsel lead wire -- if the enclosure is bigger than we suggest it can be done by mechanical stress on the lead wire. It is quite unlikely you actually damaged the coil itself -- have yet to see that on an SA-8, actually.

The newer spider setup will help alot with holding up to even more continued mechanical abuse.

It's the same price -- 40 dollars + SH to re-cone it with a new frame.

They are very picky about enclosures -- as an 8" has a very small spider and the SA-8 has just as much motor force as the bigger SA woofers. It makes mechanical failure arise well before any hint of thermal stress, especially if the box is any bigger than about 0.5 cubes.

Newer spider should be even more resistant to mechanical stress in alternative enclosures like T-Lines and whatnot.

Ok well once i figure out how much its going to cost me to ship it round trip i will hit you up..I appreciate the quick reply to my questions man..Hopefully running it at 2 ohms this time will prevent the blowout this time.
